Do You Love Tangible Jane Mail?

If you're like me, I love getting Jane Austen surprises of any kind. Whether it's something physical I can hold on to or a new fact, I appreciate the reminder of what Jane has done for the world. For me, seeing anything Jane Austen related reminds me that I am not alone and the postcard I received today is proof of that.   Below is a very special postcard from my friend Sarah Rose Kearns. It's not every day that you get airmail from England and have it come from Jane Austen's House Museum in Chawton. The card reads: "Dear...

Recap of Virtual: Jane Austen: Who Wants to Be an Authoress?
On a rainy afternoon in NYC, I woke up exhausted from designing. Somehow, after years of doing fashion week shows, I had forgotten how much work they take. From the designing and the website edits, I felt like it was a good day for a one woman show like myself to take a much-needed break.
Coincidentally, I check my email and was delighted to see that another one woman show Virtual: Jane Austen: Who Wants to Be an Authoress? was scheduled. As soon as Laura Rocklyn was introduced, she was in character talking to the Zoom audience like we were in the same drawing room together. The Astrology of Genius: Anne Ortelee reads Jane Austen, with special guest Laura Rocklyn
To quote playwright Sarah Rose Kearns:
"The well-known astrologer Anne Ortelee has agreed to read "Jane," in the person of my dear friend Laura Rocklyn — whom you may have seen portray her before in my play Manydown and/or in her own solo show Who Dares to Be an Authoress. Anne is always fully-booked for readings about six months in advance, so I'm particularly chuffed that she's agreed to squeeze Miss Austen in.
Registration is $26 and all proceeds will help to fund The Holy Theatre's workshop of Persuasion, as adapted by Sarah Rose Kearns, at The Warwick Institute of Culture later this summer. Please click here to register today.

Meet My Jane Austen Muse

In a few days, I'll be celebrating my one-year anniversary as a JASNA (Jane Austen Society of North America) member and I'm reminded of all the good things that have come my way. In the last year, I've created the Jane Austen Collection, attended my first JASNA Annual General Meeting, learned how to English Country dance and gained so many new friends, including my real-life muse (Sarah) Rose

(Don't forget to scroll all the way to the bottom for photos / video of the cast of Mr. Malcolm's List  from the preview event Rose and I attended)
