In about a week and a half The Holy Theatre will host its first mini conference around Jane Austen's Persuasion. Most of you are probably aware of the talk around the latest film adaptation that stars Dakota Johnson and we'll get to hear from a number of expert panelists. Below is one online event from the series that features four artists who adapted their work around Jane Austen and specifically Persuasion.
David Fernandez is a choreographer and filmmaker whose dance film Courage, which tells the story of Jane Austen and her heroines through the medium of ballet, is now in pre-production and scheduled for release in 2023.
Noreen Mughees is the author of the forthcoming Sana’s Suitors, a contemporary novel inspired by Persuasion, set to be published in the fall of 2023 by Alcove Press.
Sarah Rose Kearns is a playwright and performer; her stage adaptation of Persuasion debuted off-Broadway last year and will be produced again in Warwick, New York at the end of this month.
Damianne Scott is a writer, a professor, and the creator of the popular Black Girl Loves Jane Facebook page; she’s currently editing her Persuasion-inspired novel Persuaded for publication.
